The 1970 Chevrolet Nova SS 396 finally became simply the Chevrolet Nova in 1970 after two years of transitional nameplates. Out of 254,242 Novas sold for 1970, 19,558 were the SS 350 or SS 396 version.

The engine in our Nova is a 396 cubic inch big block engine backed by a Muncie 4-speed manual transmission, with Chevrolet orange paint on the block and heads, aluminum intake, performance 4-barrel carb, correct factory chrome open element air Cleaner and valve covers, hoses and lines, spark plug wires, and sits in a well detailed engine compartment.
The transmission is a 4-Speed and it has a chrome shifter with a white shifter ball. The Nova also has power steering and power brakes for upgraded handling and safety.
It has a performance 12-bolt rear end, dual exhaust, and factory SS 5 spoke mag wheels with Supreme TA raised white letter tires.
Interior
The black twin front bucket seat with rear bench seat interior looks as it came off the show room floor and is complimented by the dash with its array of factory gauges the rare factory tach, and Tic Tok gauges on the console, black carpet and floor mats, black door panels, and the black console.
It has the SS steering wheel, and the correct trim on the floor pedals too.
Exterior
Our Nova has great Cortez Silver paint flowing over the muscular Nova body, SS hood, grill, great chrome trim and chrome bumpers, as well as the black vinyl top that sets it off.
It looks docile enough till you see the 396 emblems on the front fenders and hear the muscular engine sounds.
